Bangalore Royal Challengers Sack CEO Charu Sharma For Team's Lackluster Showing In The IPL - Patel To Replace Charu

Unimpressed by the below par performance of the Bangalore Royal Challengers so far in the Indian Premier League, the owner of the franchise and liquor baron Vijay Mallya has decided to sack their team's CEO Charu Sharma.

There are also indications that coach Venkatesh Prasad may also be asked to leave after Bangalore's shoddy display in the cash-rich IPL. Currently languishing at the bottom of the 8-team league, the Mallya's franchise have five defeats and two victories from seven outings.

Former Test player Brijesh Patel will replace Charu Sharma as CEO of the team.

Team's spokesman Prakash Mirpuri confirmed that Sharma had "stepped down" and that he had made way for.

"Charu Sharma has stepped down from the post due to personal reason and Brijesh Patel would now take over the reins. Patel would be in Kolkata tomorrow for the team's match against Kolkata Knight Riders on Thursday," Mirpuri was quoted as saying to PTI.
