The Indian women’s squad has been announced a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh (approx US$12,000) each for 15 players for their stupendous achievement of winning the prestigious Asia Cup.

Lauding the exploits of the eves , BCCI President Sharad Pawar said: “I congratulate the women's cricket team for winning the Asia Cup.”

The women’s team were simply brilliant in their performance at the Asia Cup as they were undefeated throughout the tournament.

They won all six league games before crushing Sri Lanka by 177 runs in the final on Sunday to clinch their fourth successive Asia Cup.
