Deccan Chargers, Hyderabad scored a convincing 7-wicket victory to beat Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League at the M A Chidambaram stadium in Chennai on Tuesday night.

Set to chase 145, Hyderabad, who were led by Adam Gilchrist in the absence of injured VVS Laxman, made light of the target.

Gilchrist led from the front with a blazing 36-ball 54 and New Zealander Scott Styris made 36 to set up an easy win.Rohit Sharma, who made 23, was handed the 'Orange' cap for becoming the leading scorer of the series.

Though today's win was Deccan's only second of the tournament, Chennai suffered their third straight loss after winning their first four.

Earlier, Deccan Chargers bowled a tight line and length to halt Chennai to a modest 144 for seven wickets.
