As England selectors sit down on Sunday to name the squad for the opening Test against New Zealand, they would be worried by all-rounder Paul Collingwood's form and fitness.
The England one-day skipper suffered shoulder and back problems just days ahead of the first Test from May 15 while his form with the bat for Durham has come under the scanner.
Against Lancashire, Collingwood scored only 3 and 1 in the two innings during the County Championship defeat.
"Paul has received treatment for stiffness in his lower back and a sore right shoulder," an England and Wales Cricket Board spokesman was quoted as saying to BBC Sport.
"He will continue to have treatment and be reassessed over the next 48 hours," the spokesman added.
