Andrew Flintoff's county skipper Stuart Law believes that his Lancashire mate is ready to face New Zealand in the first Test at Lord's on May 15.
Flintoff is in the reckoning of making an international comeback after his 4th ankle operation.
"I'd hate to go into that first Test against New Zealand, into any game, without Flintoff," Law was quoted as saying to cricket365.com.
"People are saying he's not scoring enough runs - so bat him 11!
"It doesn't matter - that might be the kick up the backside he needs.
"He's working his utmost to get that right; he's one shot away from being back. But his bowling is out of this world," the Australian added.
