ECB Bars Five Cricketers From Registering For County Clubs Due To Link With Unofficial Indian Cricket League
The England & Wales Cricket Board has denied five cricketers registration to play county cricket this season as they were either involved or are likely to be involved with the rebel Indian Cricket League (ICL).
The Independent reported on Friday that Wavell Hinds (Derbyshire), Johannes van der Wath (Northamptonshire), Andrew Hall (Northamptonshire), Hamish Marshall (Gloucestershire) and Justin Kemp (Kent) have taken part in, or are scheduled to take part in, the Indian Cricket League which is an unsanctioned event by the Board and ICC.
New Zealand fast bowler Shane Bond has also been subject to similar treatment as he was denied permission to register for Hampshire.
However, those players, who have been involved with the official IPL will not be meted out with similar treatment.
