Harbhajan Singh Banned For Remainder Of IPL For Slapping Sreesanth

India off spinner Harbhajan Singh has been found guilty of slapping compatriot S Sreesanth during Friday’s IPL match at Mohali as Singh admitted of the offense at a hearing on Monday in Delhi and as such has been banned for the remainder of the Indian Premier League.

Harbhajan, as per reports, pleaded guilty at the hearing conducted by match referee Farokh Engineer.

Harbhajan, leading Mumbai Indians, had slapped Kings XI Punjab bowler S Sreesanth last Friday during a match which the latter’s team had won.

Engineer conducted the hearing after viewing the tapes by the host broadcaster.

Sreesanth, in the meanwhile has been let off with a warning.

Mumbai Indians coach Lalchand Rajput has also been charged with level 2 misconduct and penalised 15 per cent of his match fees.

At the end of the hearing, Engineer ensured both the players hug each other while Harbhajan later appealed to the people of India to pardon him.
