ICC Warns BCCI Over Poor Quality Kanpur Pitch For The 3rd Test Against South Africa in April
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially warned the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for the poor quality of pitch prepared for the third Test match between India and South Africa at Kanpur in April.
India leveled the series 1-1 on a dusty Kanpur pitch where the ball spun and bounced as South Africa were sent packing in just 3 days of Test cricket where 32 wickets fell in under three days as India won by eight wickets despite trailing 0-1 in the series.
The BCCI has accepted the warning and decided to carry out the necessary action to ensure the pitch at Kanpur is improved in the future.
"I thank the ICC for its input and decision in relation to this and I can assure everyone that we will take all steps necessary to ensure this does not happen in the future," BCCI honorary secretary Niranjan Shah was quoted as saying to Rediff.
