PCB Firm On Not To Allow Controversial Umpire Hair To Stand In Tests Involving Pakistan
Despite his reinstatement as an ICC Elite Umpire, the Pakistan Cricket Board has strongly objected the Australian’s return and has warned that they will not allow the controversial official from officiating in Tests involving Pakistan.
Hair was dumped by ICC after the forfeited Oval Test involving England and Pakistan in August 2006, where Pakistan were levied with the charge of ball-tampering allegation .
However, PCB chairman Nasim Ashraf was quoted by The Australian saying that he would not allow Hair to stand in Tests involving his country.
"Let me tell you in clear words that Hair will not officiate in our matches even though the ICC has reinstated him," Ashraf said.
"Hair has been a top umpire as far as his decisions are concerned, but he was sidelined because of his poor management skills."
Hair will stand in next month’s Test series between England and New Zealand.
