Sri Lanka's express fast bowler Lasith Malinga has been advised rest for at least one more month after doctors found out through a second MRI test that his injured right knee had hardly improved.
Malinga, 24, who suffered a knee injury during the concluding phase of the CB Series in Australia in February, will be assessed somewhere in May.
The injury ruled him out of the Sri Lankan tour to West Indies and has also raised a question mark on his participation in the ongoing Indian Premier League for Mumbai Indians.
However, Sri Lanka Cricket physios are expecting that the nippy paceman will have his first bowl in the nets by the first week of June so that he could be back in action for the Asia Cup, which starts on June 24 in Pakistan.
