Glamorgan Rope In Experienced South African Star Herschelle Gibbs For Twenty20 Competition

South African opening batsman Herschelle Gibbs will play for Glamorgan in this season's Twenty20 competition.

Gibbs will turn up for the Welsh county from June 11 and try and make the most of his vast international experience to guide his team to a finals win.

Gibbs has played 90 Tests and 227 one-day internationals for South Africa and is keen to prove his worth.

"I'll be coming from the Pro20 competition in South Africa and then the Indian Premier League. I'll be in the perfect mindset," the 34-year-old was quoted as saying to BBC Sport.

"I want to help drive the Glamorgan team toward finals day and hopefully get some silverware," he added.

"I am really excited to be joining Glamorgan for the Twenty20 Cup, which will also be my first experience of county cricket," he added.
