Michael Clarke Named Australia’s Vice-Captain For West Indies Tour
Middle order batsman Michael Clarke has been named captain Ricky Ponting’s deputy for Australia’s tour to the West Indies in May-June.
Also named in the touring squad are New South Wales trio Beau Casson, Simon Katich and Stuart MacGill. Australia will play three-match Test series in the Caribbean.
Leg-spinner MacGill as expected made a return to the side after recovering from a wrist injury.
Katich’s selection has been made to strengthen the batting. However, the Australians will miss retired Adam Gilchrist, who vice-captaincy has now gone to Clarke.
